Y. David Scharf to Moderate Panel at IMN Distressed CRE East

Morrison Cohen Partner Y. David Scharf will moderate a panel at IMN Distressed CRE East, taking place October 14, 2026, in New York City.

David will moderate the panel “The New Distressed Landscape: Macro Forces Redefining Real Estate Value,” joined by Daniel Lockwood, Managing Partner/Head of Private Investments at Torchlight Investors; Tang Tang, Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets at Cottonwood Group; Shaun Ahmad, President of 25 Capital Partners; and Tony Julianelle, CEO of Atlas Real Estate.

The panel will examine how rising interest rates, geopolitical developments and broader market conditions are reshaping the distressed real estate landscape. Panelists will discuss how current market conditions compare with previous downturns, as well as delinquency trends, regulatory developments and the implications for distressed real estate markets.

The discussion will also explore insights from public and private market returns, local economic shifts across New York and the East Coast compared with national trends and the factors investors should be monitoring as the market evolves. Looking ahead to 2027, the panel will consider which asset classes—including office, retail and hospitality—may present the most compelling opportunities for investors.

IMN Distressed CRE East brings together leading professionals across the distressed commercial real estate market to examine investment opportunities, market trends and strategies in an evolving economic environment.
